"Breakaway" was one of those LP's that went on like a Rachmaninov symphony. Each song blended into the next (and not like mindless muzac). But rather like melodic lullabies you want to forever memorize. "I Believe (When I Fall In Love It Will Be Forever)" and "I Only Have Eyes For You" are always acknowleged as the two great tunes on this LP/5().

A recording of the song by Art Garfunkel was a number-one hit on the UK Singles Chart in October for two weeks. In the US, the song reached number 18 on the U.S. Billboard Hot and No. 1 on the Billboard Adult Contemporary chart. Garfunkel performed "I Only Have Eyes for You" on the second episode of Saturday Night Live.

Besides Breakaway (which is terrific) this is the only Art Garfunkel album that has consistently quality material. Every song here is good with several that are really great including, Since I Don't Have You, Sail On A Rainbow, Miss You Nights, Bright Eyes, Beyond The Tears, Oh How Happy and When Someone Doesn't Want You/5(34).

May 04, · I heard "Breakaway" in a restaurant the other day; I had single back in A great Gallagher and Lyle song that was really the only time I showed much interest in Garfunkel. It had a picture sleeve taken from the album cover. I always wondered about that photo. Who is the woman with the cigarette? Is that a guy or girl whispering to Art?
